Corporate Volunteering

Your company can make a real difference to the young people that Rathbone supports through corporate volunteering. The level of your organisation’s involvement is your choice and you can align your involvement with your own business objectives. It could be a one-off fundraising event where your employees raise money to benefit the young people Rathbone works with – challenge events or fundraising in the workplace. Alternatively, your company could second staff to make a regular time commitment to support Rathbone, for example, mentoring young people for a few hours a week. On a national level, your business might want to develop a large scale strategic project with us, building particular skills and capability in our charity and its workforce to support our development.

Developing community partnerships

Through a corporate volunteering project, your company can demonstrate a commitment to helping young people in your local community or if you’re partnering with us at a national strategic level, your commitment can help Rathbone realise its national objectives. Rathbone can really benefit from the skills, expertise and knowledge of your employees.

Building a committed workforce

Volunteering can increase employee job satisfaction, which contributes to a positive corporate culture and the recruitment and retention of employees in the long run. Volunteer projects give employees space away from their ‘day jobs’ to work with colleagues – and new colleagues from different parts of your business - in a very different setting which can build stronger teams.

Breaking down social barriers

Corporate volunteering helps to break down social barriers in the communities that Rathbone works in. For example, long term unemployment, both in their family and neighbourhood, is the experience that many young people come to Rathbone with, so the opportunity to work besides people who are in employment can be a very positive learning experience. In turn, this gives your employees insight into the issues that many young people and more deprived communities face.

Working with an experienced team

You’ll be in safe hands. We’re experienced in working with corporate volunteers. We can talk over any concerns you may have before a project begins and together we can develop a project that achieves shared goals.

Making a difference in local communities

Most of Rathbone’s work is delivered in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. We’re UK-wide - we have a presence in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. By partnering with us, your business can make a positive impact on a community that is close to home or at a more national level.
