Twins peak at Distington
Caring sisters Aimee and Danielle McMullen shared the limelight at a special “passing out ceremony” at Rathbone Workington.
Presided over by MP Tony Cunningham, the event saluted 30 apprentices who’ve progressed at our centres at Stoneleigh and Distington.

Seventeen-year-old Danielle was deemed, “Achiever of the Year” after impressing bosses during an apprenticeship placement looking after elderly and disabled people at the Copeland Occupational and Social Centre (COSC) in nearby Cleator Moor. Manager Alan Hunter described Danielle as, “a committed member of our team, always going above and beyond.” Although she now works at Workington’s Bethel House residential home, Danielle continues to raise funds for COSC in her spare time.
Aimee – who is close to her twin that she even finishes her sentences for her! – was so impressed that she has decided to follow in her sister’s footsteps and is about to begin an apprenticeship in health and social care.
Things are certainly adding up for the twins, who both improved their numeracy and literacy skills whilst with Rathbone.
