Duo develop in our market place
The team behind Rathbone’s burgeoning brand have just taken on their first-ever apprentices.
Heyder Ali Rashid cashed-in on the opportunity to become our inaugural fundraising apprentice and with a track record in raising readies for the Warrington Islamic Association – Rathbone is sure to get its money’s worth!
Heyder’s new role (based at Rathbone’s central support function in Manchester) will see him organising fundraising events, encouraging existing supporters and crucially, finding new ones! “Heyder’s role is pivotal” said Rathbone Fundraising Manager, Chelly Crompton, “like many other charities, Rathbone has had to become less reliant on the state and has to find new fundraising schemes.”

Heyder Ali Rashid and Taslema (Taz) Begum |
New marketing apprentice Taslema (Taz) Begum is already a familiar face at Rathbone having gained seven months’ experience working in the bustling facilities department. In that post she developed many new skills regarding health and safety issues and general property management tasks as well as overcoming her anxieties around using the phone.
Her role within marketing will see her supporting events, organising the photography library and making sure Rathbone staff have plenty of materials to plug the charity at careers fairs.
With recent appearances on national TV and a hugely positive response to their recent fliers and posters (including the “Rathbone Gets Young People Working” visual), Rathbone is becoming a name synonymous with helping young people progress. Both Heyder and Taz will take this to a new level, dividing their time between gaining their qualifications and getting a good practical grounding in all aspects of marketing.
Lucky then, that both have such a positive outlook on the future with Taz’s motto being, ““Keep learning and earning!”
